He oversees operations, analyzes data, and makes decisions regarding the overall productivity of systems within the company to ensure maximum efficiency.
Tell us about yourself
I studied operations management at the University of Nairobi. I am currently the Operations Manager at ibuQa where I run the day-to-day operations and improve decision-making through data analysis. In my downtime, I enjoy hiking and watching science fiction movies.
How would you describe your job and its responsibilities to small children?
An operations manager is the glue that holds an organization together. I am that guy in the office who makes sure everyone is happy by ensuring everything runs smoothly.
Is it hectic?
Yes, at times the job gets hectic due to the amount of work we manage and the inherent unpredictability of logistics.
How do you handle the pressure?
I rely on my team whose support and knowledge make the job rewarding. I also find music relaxing when I am under pressure.
What type of music do you listen to?
Mostly RnB, and other smooth songs from the 2000s
Tell us about the first day working at ibuQa
It was very exciting and intimidating due to the number of things I had to learn for my new role. To get us more acquainted, my colleagues organized a lunch meeting, which helped get rid of the ‘newbie’ jitters.

I have thalassophobia (fear of large bodies of water)
If you were to write a memoir about your life, what would you title it?
I can’t believe I still haven’t gone to a Coldplay concert
